Fish Oil Benefits

Some experts believe that getting fish oil can help you regulate your cholesterol in the body, because fish oil has high levels of omega 3 fatty acids. Besides cholesterol regulation, fish oil benefits include anti inflammatory properties and positive effects on the bodies composition. It has been suggested that these kinds of fatty acids are responsible for the neuronal growth of the frontal cortex of the brain, which is where your personal behavior is controlled, but this is not the end to benefits of fish oil.

The American Heart Association (AHA) recommends the consumption of about 1 gram of fish oil every day, preferably by eating fish and not just fish supplements, as it is supposed to help people with coronary heart disease and also it helps prevent it.

The National Institute of Health (NIH) in the US lists three conditions for which fish oils and other omega 3 fatty acid sources are most recommended:

Three Main Fish Oil Benefits According To NIH

- Hypertriglyceridemia
- Secondary cardiovascular disease
- High blood pressure

The National Institute of Health then lists another 27 conditions for which there is less evidence, below are a few:

Other Fish Oil Benefits According To NIH

- Asthma
- Cancer
- Child health
- Maternal health
- Cognitive function
- Diabetes
- Inflammatory Bowel Disease
- Arthritis
- Renal Disease
- Systemic Lupus Erythematosus
- Osteoporosis

In some cases it has also been shown that omega 3 fatty acids show aid in the treatment of people who are suffering from depression. When plaque builds up on arterial walls and then breaks loose, it causes what's known as a thrombosis, which is a fancy way of saying clot. If a clot gets stuck in the brain, it can cause a stroke and when it plugs an artery, it can cause a heart attack. Research shows omega 3 fatty acids break up clots into smaller sizes so they cannot do any damage.

Just to show how fish oil fatty acids leave nobody out, studies have shown that children (and adults) with Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) experience a greatly improved quality of life. And those with dyslexia, dyspraxia and compulsive disorders have gotten a new lease on life thanks to omega 3 oils.

So it is quiet easy to see why it is important to get enough omega 3 fatty acids into your diet, so go and eat more cold water oily fish and take some omega 3 supplements and get some fish oil benefits.

I think omega 3 is better than the medication that doctors prescribe, less side affects.

I have been taking fish oils for almost two years now, and have seen nothing but positive results. I am a very young adult, so I will more than likely continue to take them throughout my lifetime.

I'm going to be looking into this to see if it helps my asthma. Hopefully it will work.
